C261
Corgi 261 James Bond's Aston Martin D.B.5. Near mint/boxed. With a full original Secret Instruction Packet. From The London Collection.
Notes
One of the most popular Corgi models ever, issued between 1965-69. This particular example has come straight from a childhood collection, bought new at the time and carefully handled/stored.
It is in all original condition with none of the reproduction accessories, rife with this issue.
The car is fully functioning, complete with both figures. Suspension on wire wheels at the rear (only). Smooth original tyres (no splits) . A little rub and a small mark to the rood and a few small marks besides. Bright gold finish.
The plinth on which the model sits is in very near perfect condition – very crisp, bright and fresh with no wear at the wheel slots. A little light handling wear including a very small surface tear.
The Instruction Packet has been carefully opened and inside there are the all-important Secret Instructions which detail the retractable machine guns, opening roof and ejector seat, rear bullet screen and telescopic over-riders. All have been tested and work perfectly! The packet also contains the unapplied 007 badge which is still affixed to the backing sheet. Inside the packet, too, there is the spare villain figure, in case the first one goes astray!
The outer box is generally bright and complete with all end flaps. A little minor age wear at end flap corners. No tears or graffiti.
All in all, this a piece of Corgi history and a nostalgic treat!
