C261
Corgi 261 James Bond's Aston Martin D.B.5. Very near mint/boxed. From The London Collection. With still-sealed InstructionPacket and additional colour leaflet found with the earliest models off the production line.
Notes
We are pleased to offer for sale one of the most popular Corgi models ever, issued between 1965-69.
The James Bond Aston Martin is in all original condition with none of the reproduction accessories, rife with this issue.
The car has a lustrous bright yellow-gold finish, complete with both figures. Press one of the levers at the sides and the roof flips open ejecting the villain!
A super example with barely a mark to the paint finish (just one little barely visible light rub at the roof edge, hardly worth a mention!). Fortunately, this model does not have the almost obligatory chip on the roof. Beautiful gold bullet screen – so often the gold finish is rubbed away during use. Press the lever at the rear and the bullet screen rises.
Suspension is fine on the front wheels, still just about present (but soft) on the rear wheels.
The front over-riders/retractable machine guns are difficult to operate now – with careful application of oil and a bit of patience, they may improve further.
The plinth on which the model sits is in fresh crisp condition – with very vivid colours and no tears and that includes the wheel slots.
The Instruction Packet is still-sealed and so inside there are the all important Secret Instructions which detail the retractable machine guns, opening roof and ejector seat, rear bullet screen and telescopic over-riders. 007 badge, and the spare villain.
Also included is the colour promotional booklet included with the earliest examples.
The outer box is most impressive with very vivid deep colours and barely any wear at all. Crisp, clean and fresh with no tears. Shopkeeper’s period pencilled price at an end flap.
