D918
Dinky 918 Guy Van "Ever Ready". Near mint plus/box wear. From The Berkshire Collection.
Notes
A classic Supertoy from the heyday of Dinky and part of the desirable range of advertising vans made during the period 1950-61.
This ‘Ever Ready’ Guy Van is in all original condition with a lustrous mid-blue finish and perfect-very near perfect transfers on both sides.
One little chip low down at the rear edge and a few minor dots besides (visible if you really hunt for them). Little nick to the letter ‘B’ of batteries on one side. Perfect lettering above the cab. Little rusting to the door hinges but these may be improved with a very careful clean.
Looks af it has spent most of the last 55 or so years tucked away in the box!
None of the usual chipping at wheel arches, and thankfully no touch-ins either. Tyres are the originals and the spare wheel is present too.
The box is intact and the colours are bright, although the box is grubby now. No splits or repairs. The box base has quite a lot of rubbing/wear to the underside. Rusty staples.
