Notes

This is a scarce set – only the third example we have ever handled!
Issued between 1963-66, it comprises:

1) 258 Ford Fairlane. Near mint plus, with an original shiny black finish, intact ‘roof light’, and complete POLICE lettering front and rear. Original white-painted doors with ‘POLICE’ lettering on both doors. Shiny spun wheels with suspension and original fine tread (as-new!) tyres. Intact original aerial and a matt baseplate. Looks unused! Couple of little marks at the top front edge of the roof and a couple of little dots at a rear wing edge.

2) 263 Superior Criterion Ambulance. Near mint plus, with patient on stretcher. Original off-white finish with intact ‘roof light’ and siren. Red detail at the sides (slight rubbing on one side) . Complete ‘Ambulance’ transfers on both sides. Very minor rubs one one side at exposed top edge . With both seated figures.

3) 276 Fire Tender. Near mint plus condition. Vibrant red finish throughout (no sunfading whatsoever!). Fine lustre. Intact roof light, water cannon and a shiny bell. Complete ‘AIRPORT FIRE CONTROL’ lettering on both sides. Shiny spun wheels. Original treaded tyres. Matt base. Few little marks only.

4) 277 Superior Criterion Ambulance. Very near mint with a metallic blue and white finish, both seated figures, intact roof light, and siren. Shiny spun wheels, original white tyres.Suspension. Matt base. Complete ‘AMBULANCE’ transfers on both sides. Mere negligible dot or two only!

Condition of the contents are in our opinion the originals from the set (i.e. not a later ‘made-up’ set with swapped contents).

Complete with all of the original figures and original hose.

The box is complete and vividly-coloured with no sunfading, heavy grubbiness or heavy wear. No rips or graffiti. Colours are fresh and clean. Remains of the old sellotape can be seen in places on the lid and there is a small area of light surface removal on the side of the box and another small one on the box face. Couple of light scuffs too.
Card insert is complete, clean and intact.
Cylindrical small card packing piece is also present, as well as the shaped card piece immediately in front of the figures on the insert.
