D413
Dinky 30S/413 Austin Covered Wagon. *Rarest version in dark CHERRY RED WITH MATCHING WHEELS, TAN TILT*. Very near mint/boxed (dual-numbered). From a prime specialist Dinky collection in the North of England.
Notes
Exceptionally rare to come to the market place, and indeed the first we have ever seen or handled, this Austin Covered Wagon is finished in a distinctive original cherry red with matching wheels, and tan tinplate tilt.
Distinctly different colour shade to the comparatively ‘standard’ red and grey issue.
Just a few very minor marks may be seen upon close inspection and a few light (box) rubs at the sides. Area of thin paint on the bumper and one front wheel arch has had a discreet lick of paint at some time.
Correctly presented in the dual-numbered 30S/413 box with a red spot (in the print) at the end flaps. Vivid colours and the card feels crisp. No tears. Clean. Edge crumple at an end flap. Crease. Pencilled price of 2- on one face.
One of the best surviving examples – we do not expect to see another for a long, long time.
Missing from even the most comprehensive of commercial Dinky collections.
Another exceptional piece from this collector!
