CGS2
Corgi Gift Set 2 Land-Rover with Rice's Pony Trailer & Pony. Near mint plus/boxed. Complete with individual packing around the horse and packing piece overlay! From a very fine private Cheshire collection.
Notes
Issued between 1958-68, this fine Gift Set was a late issue, having a light brown and cream finish and a plastic tilt on the Land-Rover. Shaped spun wheels with suspension. Bright red detailed interior.
Both pieces are in close to mint condition. Just a couple of the typical marks at the rear of the Land-Rover and on the tow ring of the trailer where both items have come into contact. Few mere dots besides. Lovely original lustre.
Nice to see this set complete with the original brown plastic pony, and the nearly always missing card wrap-around piece.
The card plinth on which the models sit, is complete and brightly-coloured. Couple of very small tears at two of the larger slots and a small edge crumple.
This set is complete with the orignal card overlay packing piece.
Corgi Club Membership Form is included too.
The outer card pictorial end flap box is extremley fresh and bright with a strudy crisp feel to the rarely handled card. Small area of surface removal at an end flap and a little seam tear at an end flap.
