FD551
French Dinky 551 Rolls Royce Silver Wraith. Very near mint/boxed. Scarce.
Notes
The scarce version of the more familiar English Dinky 150. Actually, this French issue was made using the English casting, although assembled in France and of course what distinguishes it from its more common cousin is the baseplate stamp ‘Assemble en France’.
Gleaming two tone grey finish with generally bright and unrubbed chromed bumpers (couple of little box rubs to the chrome may be seen if you look for them). Complete bonnet emblem too.
Few mere dots besides and a light scratch on a side window. Bright baseplate.
The plain yellow card box is complete, crisp, clean and bright with a lightly disguised fleck of surface loss at an end flap (easily overlooked), and a very small seam tear.
