What a gem! And such a difficult find in any condition!
This classic early commercial Dinky model has a first type cab, original fawn cab and back, red chassis, small unpainted hook. Issued between 1947-48 only. It is always exciting to find early Dinky commercials in this barely touched, all original condition!
Only the most minor occasional mark and a small area of rough casting on one side wagon back. Fine sheen to the all-original paint finish, so presents nicely. Bright baseplate too:
Presented in a superb, fresh, earliest buff box with paper label. Colours are vivid and there are no nicks or tears throughout. Difficult to find these early boxes so nice! Only a little of the usual expected age wear. A little piece of Dinky history – this model sold for the princely sum of 6/9 (shopkeeper’s penned price at one end of the box lid) and alongside this you will see the earliest of colour spots from the Dinky factory – a mere daub of the factory fawn paint!
