A little piece of Dinky history – pencilled shopkeeper’s price on the lid of this box informs us that each of the Tyre Racks of tyres sold for 3/5 each! So the total value of the box of 20/6 is written on the box lid end (just over 1 UK Pound in total therefore!).
A sound, sturdy deep yellow lift-off lid box with minimal age grubbiness, no splits and no graffiti (unless you count the shopkeeper’s prices!). Bright staples. Very pleased to see inside the original little card dividers (damage-free) which would keep each tyre rack from chipping its neighbour.
It would be great to see this box re-filled with Dunlop Tyre Racks – not too difficult a project!
