Notes
A truly fine, all original 1st issue example made between 1947-48 in this rare khaki and black finish with green wheels. Correct that this early issue does not have triangular lugs next to the number plate. Early ridged wheels, and rear axle fixed by tin clips. Small unpainted hook. A wonderful lustre to this distinctive paint finish:
With one negligible rub at a rear detail, one could surely be forgiven for calling this model mint. Small area of the baseplate is tarnished now.
The correct early buff box with picture label is astonishingly bright and fresh. Delightful period touch – this was a gift from ‘Mummy & Daddy’ in 1948 (neatly written on the box base underside)
