Looking extremely fresh and bright with a glistening silver finish, these Streamlined Racing Cars are in close to perfect condition.
This old shop stock item comprises a sturdy deep yellow card lift-off lid box. This is a dual-numbered box marking the transition from the old numbering 23S for these racing cars to 222 in 1954. All four racing cars look to be originals for this trade box (so not a later ‘made up’ collection). All the wheels are fawn. In the trade box are two Streamlined Racers with green flashes and two with blue. You will find the occasional little chip and one of the base plates is tarnished. All have small baseplate print with a rail detail.
Nice to see that this trade box still contains all three yellow card dividers! The box has a little minor wear (occasional little crease or ruffle and a very small corner tear). Original shopkeeper’s pencilled price of “2/5 each” on the lid and at one end.
Barely visible small area of surface loss at one side of the lid due to removal of old sellotape and the remains of old sellotape at another end.
A delightful piece of Dinky history and such an impressive array of these fine early Racing Cars!
