Notes
Looking like old shop stock, this is an early (first type) example of this popular Dinky model, issued between 1948-52. Dark blue cab and chassis, pale blue tank and flash.
In very near mint condition with a vibrant original paint finish. Undented tinplate tank too. Fine tread radial tyres, 20 mph sign at rear, large painted hook, spare wheel, tinplate ladders. Notably there is no rust or crazing to the tinplate tank and no paint loss or flaking to the ladders. This two-tone blue tanker is extremely fresh and bright, in all original glowing condition with only the occasional small mark and a couple of assembly marks where the tank meets the chassis at the rear. Certainly the best we have handled.
This model looks like old shop stock with very vibrant colours. Axles (including the ends) and all metal parts are shiny, showing that this item has been carefully stored.
The box is clean, and intact with bright colours on crisp card.
Vivid red Hudson Dobson export label at one side of the box lid. Small area of fading to one side of the box where it must have been exposed to light during storage.
A very attractive early commercial Dinky model in all original condition.
