There were lots of colour versions of this popular Dinky toy! This has got to be a favourite in this most pleasing of colour combinations – and in this close to perfect condition, quite irresistable!
This scarce early version has a dark grey cab, vibrant violet blue back (not the lighter royal blue), red ridged wheels, white lettering, smooth black tyres. An all original example that has an exceptional lustre to the paint finish throughout, complete with a working tow hook operated by means of a shiny winding handle.
One rub mark/stain on the side of the jib and a few negligible dots to the upper edge of the back.
The sturdy deep orange lift-off lid box with a paper label is very nice indeed, with strong colours and a little rubbing at some corners. Two small areas of surface removal to the paper label at one end. Usual rust staining around staples and a paper tear at the side of the base. Shopkeeper’s penned price. Dinky stamp ‘G’ denoting grey on one side of the base.
Not an easy find.
