Notes
Issued between 1954-60 in four different colour finishes, this pale lemon version is one of the most difficult issues to find. Sought-after by Dinky commercial collectors and general Dinky collectors alike. In all original condition, this is a striking and eye-catching truck on display:
Bright and vivid throughout with no sunfading, and a fine lustre to the paint finish. Nice original silver detailing at the intact radiator and headlight assembly. One little chip at the top edge of the wagon back (with a slight dent at this site) and a couple of the usual little marks at two wheel arches. None of the expected chipping at cab head-on or on the roof. Bright baseplate, and the ridged original tyres look as-new!
The pictorial box is very nice indeed; strong colours on crisp, barely handled silky card. Plenty of spring in the end flaps show that this box has been opened a few times only. Correct colour spot and a slight amount of shelf rubbing on the underside. Shopkeeper’s pencilled price has been partially erased at an end flap with resultant fading at this site (minor).
What a gem on display!
