Notes
One of the most difficult and sought-after Corgi Gift Sets. This remarkable set is in unused and original condition, complete with Instructions, mat, glue (looks a little squeezed) and paints/paint brush.
The set comprises:
Corgi 224 Bentley Continental Sports Saloon. Very near mint condition with a strikingly lustrous finish and bright chrome parts intact bonnet emblem (of course!). One scuff at a rear wing, otherwise hard to fault. Box is very crisp, bright and clean, although it has a repaired tear at an end flap. Exceptional otherwise.
Corgi 225 Austin Seven. Mint condition with a factory dot/paint miss at the driver’s door. Box is shop fresh.
Corgi 229 Chevrolet Corvair. Mint condition in a shop-fresh box.
Corgi 234 Ford Consul Classic. Very near mint condition with one little chip at a roof edge. Exceptional, fresh box has a tiny crumple.
Corgi 419 Ford Zephyr Motorway Patrol. With early small blue roof light, perfect ‘POLICE’ transfer and straight intact aerial. Very near mint condition, with a few small dots down one side. Box is crisp, bright and complete, with intact packing piece.
3 × 601 Batley “Leofric” Garages Kits. Most unusual in early plain white boxes with Corgi label at the side. Bagged with Instructions inside. Difficult to open these crisp white boxes – so unused!
1 × 602 AA & RAC Telephone Boxes Kit. Bagged with Instructions inside.
2 × 606 Corgi Lamp Standards. Bagged with Instructions inside.
1 × 608 Shell Filling Station Building. With Instructions.
1 × 609 Shell Filling Station Forecourt Accessories.
All boxes look shop-fresh and as if they have been opened once or twice ever.
Instruction Leaflet:
Large sturdy outer box is intact with no tears or splits and no graffiti, save for the shopkeeper’s price on the lid. Some edge nibbling to the colour label on the lid. Some grubbiness to the lid.
Finally, we would like again to stress the rarity of this set which is complete, unused and authentic throughout.
A notable addition to any Corgi collection. A very difficult find indeed.
