Notes
Issued during 1970, this is an early Routemaster Bus with all the nice details not present in the later issues. Complete and bright transfers at the front and rear. ‘Madame Tussaud’s’ transfer is perfect on one side, small scratch through the white background on the other. Cast wheels. Conductor and driver. Ribbed roof (without the usual box rubs!), jewelled headlights. Cream interior, clear staircase.
One or two minor marks to the paint finish if one really looks for them!
The cellophane-fronted box is crisp and fresh with colours that have lost none of their vibrancy. Smooth original cellophane. Barely any age wear at all.
Not an easy variation to find.
