Lady Penelope's Fab 1 by Dinky Toys, No. 100. With gold interior & 5-Stud Wheels. Very, very near mint/boxed. Scarce late issue in a Bubble Pack (with intact original cover). Missiles/rockets still in packet. Very scarce version with NO printed reference to 'HEATHFIELD PARK' and the 'DIECAST METAL' print within a star is on the plinth top surface ( not at the sides). A sought-after example of this attractive Gerry Anderson’s Thunderbird model!
This Fab 1 model has a beautiful, virtually paint finish and jewelled headlights. Both figures of Lady Penelope and Parker are seated inside. Correct canopy for this late issue i.e. no pink lines. The canopy glides well. Number plates front and rear. Intact radiator emblem, six jewelled headlights, and correct silver baseplate/bumpers. Detailed five stud cast wheels are correct for this issue.
In all original condition. Hard to imagine better!
Note this example is the slightly later Bubble Pack version so it does not have the printed details:
“The original Fab 1 can be seen at Heathfield Wildlife Park, East Sussex”
or indeed the large ’star containing the words “DIECAST METAL” at one side of the plinth.
A smaller version of this text appears on the top of the card plinth at one end.
The plinth is bright, fresh, crisp and complete. Original bag contains the correct 2 yellow missiles as well as four red harpoons.
The original bubble lid is notably clear and intact. Remains of old tape at the sides.
An exceptional opportunity to own such a fine example of this rare version.
