Prototype Corgi Toys 931 Jet Ranger Helicopter & standard issue boxed version

Notes

An intriguing duo.
The Jet Ranger Helicopter was issued by Corgi 1979-80.

1) Prototype Corgi 931 Jet Ranger Helicopter is finished in white and red with fresh ‘Police’ labels (greyish lettering on a bright red background) and ‘Rescue’ labels. The floats are resin painted red. Note the centre ‘waistline ’ is a shiny chrome colour. Note, too the interior too which is white with amber coloured screens and a white notched circular lifting winch (non-operational which is quite typical for prototypes). Base has ’C’ (copyright) and ‘PPC 1978’.

With powder blue card ‘Valencia Box’ with details on white labels.

‘C19’ is written and refers to Corgi Gift Set 19 which included this model as part of a two-part set. However, the standard version as below was used, so this is a unique version).

2) Standard issue boxed version (virtually mint) is also finished in white with red details. The POLICE lettering is white on a red background, The floats are red plastic. The interior is red with amber coloured screens. No embossed detail on base (see above). Red ‘waistline’. RESCUE labels. Red notched lifting winch.
Still affixed to a pristine deep blue card stand atop a very nice deep blue card insert.
Rainbow window box has a cellophane tear and light wear besides.
