Wiking Models VW 'VERKEHRS POLIZEI'

These Wiking models are quite rare. They are in 1:40 scale and were exclusively made for Volkswagen in the 50s and 60s of the last century. They were give-aways for new car buyers (to please their little boys I assume). It is interesting to know that Wiking made these cars in the same colours the originals were, also they were pure promotional items for VW only and never available in the shops.

From a private collection in Croatia. The owner tells us:
“My late father got all of these from a closing dealership and most of them are in original packaging with all the bits accounted for”.

This VW Traffic Police model has a deepest blue-green finish with a deep grey roof section, grey interior & deep grey steering wheel, window glazing. Silver domed wheels and deep blue-green surround. Blue roof light. Complete ‘VERKEHRS POLIZEI’ on both sides.

Bright green and white card box with comical illustrations has light wear and a small puncture on the base.
