French Dinky Toys 32AJ Panhard Articulated Lorry 'KODAK'
Panhard Articulated Lorry 'KODAK' by French Dinky Toys, No. 32AJ. Near mint plus/never boxed individually. Very scarce U.S. export version. From The 25 Year Collection in California. Starting bid £300. Please note that QDT apply 12.5% buyer's commission.
Notes
Issued between 1955-57, this very scarce U.S. export issue with the distinctly different lettering shape of ‘KODAK’ at the sides (simplistically, they are chunkier), would have been supplied to the toy shops in trade boxes of three. This* U.S. export version version has slightly different casting on the base* when compared to the French version. Cross-hatching on the roof underside, too.
This example has a fresh, lustrous, orange-yellow finish, matching tin canopy, ridged wheels, vibrant, complete lettering on both sides:
Note the paint anomaly on the roof (perhaps a touch-in, or rough casting). Touch-in at a rear wheel arch edge. Couple of minor marks to the paint finish.
A very difficult find in any condition.
