Notes
Sought after models that are so difficult to find in good condition! Dinky dies were sold to the Indian Firm S. Kumar & Co. trading as Atamco. (1968-70). Often known as Indian-Dinky toys, the finish was poor in comparison.
Before adopting the name NICKY TOYS, the earliest of these models still bore the Dinky Toys name – and this fine early picture box, is a rare treat.
We were surprised to find inside a rare British version of the Vanwall Racing Car with yellow plastic wheels!
Unexpected – but we wonder whether this earliest Nicky Dinky was supplied with the British version?
An intriguing prospect, but we will never know for sure.
The model is in excellent condition with some chipping/marking. The driver is bright yellow metal and the racing numbers have some edge nicks. A little wear to the paint finish besides.
The colourful early Indian Dinky picture box (S.Kumar & Co (P) Ltd Calcutta) is brightly-coloured and complete with no punctures. A little age/handling wear only.
