Notes
Rare to come to the market-place. This early issue from 1935-37, is finished in original deep maroon stone and black. High-line version with complete ‘OVALTINE’ lettering on one side (nick to the word ‘health’ nearby). Small nick to the background to the ‘BOVRIL’ transfer on the other side. Complete delicate transfer at the rear for ‘BISTO’. Intact radiator and headlight assembly. ‘Mitcham’ destination front and rear with registration AYV 604. Wooden seating. Working clockwork function. Noteworthy that all four white tyres have survived well, with minor wear only.
Occasional chip to the paint finish.
The distinctive card box is a difficult find. Excellent and fresh colours to the MINIC roadway scene on both faces. Strong legible print on the sides. Light handling wear and a small seam tear.
So difficult to find this good!
