A scarce and early Gift Set from Dinky with great nostalgic British appeal! A rare find.
It comprises:
1) Dinky 42A Police Box with a deep blue finish with silver details. No crazing. Moderate peppering of small chips and a very small spot of discolouration where the model has been in contact with the card inner for a prolonged period (minor).
2) Dinky 42B Motorcycle Patrol has a bright pleasing colour finish. All original condition. Minor crazing and some chipping commensurate with age. Clean, original, white, solid rubber wheels are well-shaped.
3) Dinky 42C Point Duty Policeman in a white coat. Excellent plus
4) Dinky 42D Point Duty Policeman in a blue uniform. Excellent plus.
Inner carded tray is fresh, bright and clean with no loss of colour vibrancy. A wonderful London scene backdrop for these items. A few small stains and a tear caused by model movement.
Attractive deep powder-blue lift-off lid box is well-preserved card with no tears, splits or repairs. Minor age/handling wear only. Note the date on one side printed – June 1938.
