Corgi Toys 226 Mini Cooper

The owner tell us:
“One of the last models I bought from a collector who bought this model in the 60’s in Europe. He was an ambassador living in Belgium.
I bought his collection years ago. ".

A truly remarkable find. An intriguing Mini model that we surmise is a prototype or a special issue that never went into general production.
The body is uniquely finished in this distinctive shade of grey. Red interior. Cast wheels.Horizontal casting lines on the front wings. Note that there is an undercoat of lemon – or perhaps a change of mind at the factory from lemon to grey? Unfortunately, we will never know.
Rivetted base.

In very close to mint condition. A little ‘mottling’ in places.

The bright, crisp and complete 226 picture box has barely any wear.
An exciting Mini from this collector.
