Dinky Toys 289 Routemaster Bus Colour Trial
Routemaster Bus Colour Trial in GOLD by Dinky Toys, No. 289. Very near mint/not boxed. Purchased during the closure of the Meccano factory in 1980. Starting bid £100. Please note that QDT apply 12.5% buyer's commission.
Notes
This Dinky collector had the opportunity to purchase a group of colour trial models and unfinished items upon the closure of the Meccano Factory in 1980.
This is one of these models.
Most similar to the promotional Routemaster Bus ‘Meccano’ but this example has different seating upstairs and downstairs and has a silver section at the front. Combination of left over parts? A curiosity – and never issued. One-piece wheels/tyres and a silver base.
Very near mint.
