Sought-after models that are so difficult to find in good condition! Dinky dies were sold to the Indian Firm S. Kumar & Co. trading as Atamco. (1968-70). Often known as Indian-Dinky toys, the finish was poor in comparison.
This ‘E’ Type Jaguar model is finished in metallic red with an intact detachable black hood and cream soft top. Original windscreen is complete too. Shiny spun wheels and well-shaped treaded tyres.
Couple of small chips and the paint finish is a rather light spray in places.
An early issue since the Dinky lettering on the baseplate is still partially visible with just the letters ‘DIN’ blanked out (so ‘KY’ and ‘TOYS’ still visible), as well as the original lettering ‘Jaguar ’E’ Type from Dinky. No reference to the Indian manufacturer made on the base of this early Nicky Toys model.
The box (to Nicky toys standard) is fine – complete, clean and with a crisp feel to the card. Very light wear and a period shop label.
