Notes
Issued 1948-52, this is a scarce British heavyweight Foden Platform Lorry is finished in bright light blue and red, with a red fuel tank. Beautifully constructed, this was part of a small range of diecast constructional models made between 1948-52 by this British manufacturer. Sold with the necessary tools to take apart and rebuild, this Foden model measures 32cms x 9.5cms. approx.
Complete with spare wheel stowed underneath.
Very little marking to the paint finish – note the decorative and virtually complete Shackleton transfer – but there is a probably as-made kink to one of the window frames.
Especially difficult to find with its distinctive sturdy colourful card box. A difficult ‘Temporary Pack’ version to find in light green with informative end label. Shopkeeper’s period penned writing denoting colour of model and price. Period shop price label ‘The Winchester Cycle & Motor Co’. Some wear as you might expect (rubbing and edge scuffs). Sound with no repairs. A little staining at staples.
Original tools and leaflet too. Some of the original packing paper remains.
8-Ton Dyson Trailer is finished in matching colours with a very nearly complete ‘Dyson’ transfer. Close to mint condition (wheel arch chip) and note the mis-shapen tyre (the spare tyre supplied with the Foden may come in handy!).
Bright, sturdy end flap box is incomplete (lacks some end flaps). Wear & tear besides.
