Dinky Gift Set 294 Police Vehicle Gift Set

Slightly later example of a sought-after set from Dinky.

It contains:

1) Dinky 250 Mini Cooper. This car has jewelled headlights, detailed casting with opening doors and bonnet, tipping seats and “POLICE” signs on doors and roof. Whizzwheels. ‘N’ reg number plates front and rear. Very close to mint.

2) Dinky 254 Police Patrol Range Rover. Another detailed cast model with jewelled headlights, opening doors and bonnet, tipping seats, detailed moulded windows, light blue interior.“POLICE” roof sign, fluorescent strip down both sides and running the length of the Range Rover. Small discoloured scuff at bonnet edge. In very close to mint condition.

3) Dinky 287 Police Accident Unit. With cast wheels. Detailed model with a sliding driver’s door (revealing driver seated behind the wheel), opening service door, jewelled headlights, “POLICE” roof sign and fluorescent orange label “POLICE” sign at both sides. Space at rear for stowing the Warning Signs and cones. Light grey spotlight. All labels are complete and fine.

Included are the two original card covers (correct) which fit over the Rover and the Accident Unit (couple of small areas of surface loss:

The inner card stand on which the models sit is in impressive condition – really fresh and bright with detailed colour scene to display the Police vehicles. Couple of small bollard slot tears. Note the bollards on this later issue are red and yellow.

Outer box is bright, crisp and complete with no graffiti. A little age/handling wear including 3 little handling tears.
