Notes
Superb quality from this collection, this “POOL” Petrol Tanker is a rare survivor, especially in this condition with a fine box!
In very close to mint, unused condition, with POOL transfers intact on both sides and at the rear of the well-shaped tank. Petrol was in short supply during and just post-war. Cooperation between the suppliers meant that rationed petrol stocks were ‘pooled’, so no one brand was highlighted at tanker sides.
Glossy finish and a working motor.
A very small area of blistered paint and a very faint stain on the bonnet. Tyres are smooth and are showing a little of the expected age wear including light crazing to a couple , couple of part-splits.
The distinctive very pale Eau de nil lift off lid card box with a complete and clean paper label impresses showing minimal wear. Note the factory stamp in blue on the lid, denoting ‘P’ for ‘POOL’
