Notes

We are agents for a large lifetime Dinky collection. Some items were purchased directly from toy shops during the 1960s. He would travel to toyshops in the search for any old or out-of date stock, since scarcely anyone collected in those early days. Many were bought or swapped at early swapmeet/toyfairs. Quite a few of the unboxed models were taken straight from trade boxes. An interesting and varied collection that has been amassed over some 30 or so years.

A delightful piece of Dinky history – two gleaming bright Austin lorries that have remained in the trade box for many years!

1) 30S in maroon and fawn. What first stikes one about this model is its day-one lustrous finish. Rarely found so bright and fresh! One can find the occasional little chip – this model would be graded as near mint. Scarce version with maroon wheels. Bright axles, intact tin canopy, matt base with 30S cast. Black radiator with original silvered radiator and headlights, towhook.

2) 30S in two tone blue. Again stikingly lustrous with day-one bright colours. Graded excellent, since there are several little chips at raised body lines. Bright axles, intact tin canopy, matt base with 30S cast. Black radiator with original silvered radiator and headlights, towhook.

Trade Box is intact and complete with no splits and all the original internal dividers.

Some handling grubbiness and rusty staples. Generally light wear at edges etc. and one repaired tear at one side. Old sellotape on the box base and a little at one side of the lid. Some shopkeeper’s numbering and pricing in pen on both lid ends.
