Issued in 1933, this is one of the precious survivors from the earliest Dinky period. Pre-War Delivery Vans from Dinky are always sought-after by collectors.
In all original condition, this Type 1 Delivery Van in lead is finished in an original blue and orange, with an original light purple wash on the wheels. Tinplate radiator surround. ‘Meccano LTD.’ & ‘HORNBY SERIES’ cast in and visible from the underside. Correct thin axles.
A moderate sprinkling of chips to the paint and a slight bend to the front section of a wheel arch.
A precious survivor from the earliest period of Dinky model making.
