Notes
Sought after models that are so difficult to find in good condition! This is an early Indian Dinky model – later these models would be marketed as Nicky Toys. Often known as Indian-Dinky toys, the finish was poor in comparison.
Finished in a mid-metallic blue shade with original silver details, off-white interior, black steering wheel, intact window glazing. One-piece wheels/tyres. With luggage.
A rare find.
Shiny black base with Dinky obliterated but ‘TOYS and VW 1500’ present.
Barely a mark to the paint.
Very rare to find in the early box with DINKY TOYS printed (not Nicky Toys) with S KUMAR & CO LTD CALCUTTA
and:
Registered Proprietors of Trade Mark
Meccano Ltd. Liverpool England.
Distinctly different to the ‘standard’ later Nicky Toys box therefore.
Age/handling wear.
