From a childhood collection, this is a sought-after and scarce Gift Set issued between 1966-68 and only available by Mail Order at the time.
This exciting and colourful set comprises:
1) Corgi 1138 Ford Car Transporter in red, blue & silver.
Near mint plus with the occasional little mark. Intact horns on the roof. Chevron labels at the rear. Both wing mirrors are intact and complete with the little mirror pieces too. 4 plastic chocks.
2) Corgi 226 Morris Mini Minor in lilac blue with a red interior. Near mint plus.
3) Corgi 249 Morris Mini Cooper in red & black with ‘wickerwork’ side detail. Very near mint with complete wickerwork panels. Lustrous finish and jewelled headlights. Intact suspension on spun wheels.
3) Corgi 251 Hillman Imp in bronze. Very near mint with suspension on all four wheels.
4) Corgi 252 Rover 2000 in metallic deep plum. Near mint plus. Little super-detailing. Suspension.
5) Corgi 321 Austin Mini-Cooper in red with roof signatures of Timo Makinen and Paul Easter. Excellent with a few chips. All four jewelled lights and very nearly complete – complete transfers throughout.
6) Corgi 440 Ford Cortina Estate in red. Very near mint. Suspension.
All contents are housed in a polystyrene tray which is bright, clean and complete with the Corgi label with dog logo.
The colourful card lid is strongly-coloured and presents well with a full colour illustration on the lift-off lid.
A little age wear and a small portion of surface loss on a lid end.
