Corgi Gift Set 2 Land-Rover with Rice's Pony Trailer & Pony

Issued between 1958-68, this Gift Set was a late issue. Gives the impression of unsold old shop stock.

i) The Land-Rover has a light brown and cream finish with a plastic tilt. Shaped spun wheels with suspension. Bright red detailed interior and a fine silver trim. Shiny tow hook. Very fresh throughout. Mid-grey base and as-new original tyres.

If you want to fault it, you could note the few little marks at the rear where it has come into contact with the tow bar on the trailer. 2 minor light marks on one side which may be possible to clean off.
ii) The Horse Trailer in matching finish is in very near mint condition with just one mark at the rear. Lovely original lustre. Smooth running original tyres with fine tread.
Nice to see this set is complete with the original brown plastic pony, looking especially vibrant and unrubbed. Also present is the nearly always missing card packing piece which secures the pony inside the trailer. Large original wrap-around card packing piece is still present too (fine condition).

The card plinth on which the models sit, is crisp, clean and very bright. Looking fresh. Couple of little wheel slot tears as you might expect.
The outer card pictorial end flap box is deeply-coloured and complete, with a sturdy feel to the card. No tears or graffiti. Little age grubbiness in places, with a little mottled marking at an end flap. Period shop price label at an end flap.
