Notes
It is such a delight to come upon these very early Dinky Delivery Vans and this one has superb gold lettering on both sides. All sound and intact with no parts broken or missing. These early vans made of lead composition do not suffer from the fatigue often found in the later second and third type vans.
This commercial Dinky was made for such a short time – between 1934-35 – so it is especially sought in this condition. A vibrant red and black pigment, complemented by close to complete glistening gold lettering on both sides and gold-washed wheels.
A few chips commensurate with age, including on one front wheel arch in particular (slight bend to the metal at this site too, but all sound and intact). Bright radiator surround, intact axles. A couple of extra strokes of red paint.
_A delight to own – these early advertising vans are in extremely short supply! _
