An all-original and as-found piece from this collector who searches far and wide for fresh-to market pieces. Just occasionally, the trail will lead him to an old shop store find, with items long stored away and forgotten about!
This large 1950’s shop advertising sign is in all original condition (save for the dust and grubbiness that accumulates over decades of storage which have now been cleaned away).
This sign measures approx 26" long, 11" high and 5" deep. Opaque white formed plastic with original bronze-coloured metal framework and sturdy matching hooks and chain.
This sign would be typically suspended outside a toy shop although some were displayed indoors too.
The bold red TRI-ANG lettering (some sunfading and marking) alerts all boys and girls to the shop and the lettering below in bold black print highlights the sturdiness of Tri-ang toy construction.
This sign could be illuminated with period light fitting still inside, although needs attention now.
