French Dinky Toys 899 Delahaye Turntable Fire Engine
Delahaye Turntable Fire Engine by French Dinky Toys, No. 899. Very near mint/boxed. Early 899 issue with painted ridged diecast wheels. With Instruction Leaflet. From The Woodside Collection.
Notes
Later issue made between 1959-65, this fine French Dinky Fire Engine looks as fine as the day it left the Bobigny factory in France, close to fifty years ago! What a delightful example.
In all original and complete condition with the brightest red and silver finish, red wheels and a bright baseplate. The silver original detailing is very fresh and how clean are the original white tyres.
Note that this model marks the re-numbering from the earlier issue (32D stamped on the base):
There are a few negligible marks at raised body lines at one rear edge, probably due to box contact.
The bright and clean deep orange-yellow inner is complete and fresh with the nearly always missing extra packing piece with ‘Tirez’ (Pull) printed on it.
No wear and tear at wheel slots.
The striped Supertoys picture box is bright and clean with no splits, graffiti or any of the usual rubbing at the edges of the box lid.
Shelf rubbing to the vivid purple-blue box base.
With Leaflet:
If you buy only one French Dinky this week/month or year, let it be this one!
