What a rare Gift Set this is to add to your Dinky collection!
First issued during 1959, this is the later version – probably released during 1965. This 3 part Gift Set comprises:
1) Dinky 257 Fire Chief’s Car with shaped spun wheels and window glazing, large red light on the roof.
Condition: Good original condition with several play chips. Vibrant red finish – quite often the red colour tends to ‘bloom’ due to light exposure. Fire Chief label is virtually perfect on one side, a litle rubbed on the other.
2) Dinky 955 Fire Engine. Later issue with red plastic wheels and window glazing. Both bells and two piece ladder in silver. Tow hook.
Condition: Good and the colours have lost none of their vibrancy. Some chipping mostly at exposed edges. Bright shiny baseplate.
3) Dinky 956 Turntable Fire Escape is the later version with plastic wheels and window glazing. More difficult version to source generally. Complete and original throughout with both bells and ladder components.
Condition: Good with vibrant paint finish. Rusty ladder. Several play chips.

No inner with this set, although the all important outer box has fared very well indeed. There are no splits and the colours are extremely fresh and vibrant; box is generally clean and looks as if it has been carefully stored and handled. Very attractive and scarce item to find in this condition:

Minor creasing and the box base is a little crumpled.
