Nicky (Dinky) Toys 186 Mercedes 220 SE
Mercedes-Benz 220 SE by Nicky/Dinky Toys, No. 186. Scarce BRICK RED/BROWN version. Very near mint/boxed. From A Phenomenal Collection. Starting bid £200. Please note that QDT apply 12.5% buyer's commission.
Notes
Sought after models that are so difficult to find in good condition! Dinky dies were sold to the Indian Firm S. Kumar & Co. trading as Atamco. (1968-70). Often known as Indian-Dinky toys, the finish was poor in comparison.
A very close to mint example finished in a brick reddish-brown shade with off-white interior, black steering wheel, and intact window glazing. Silver and black plastic one-piece tyres/wheels.
A difficult find:
Paint finish is virtually mint. Black base has some dulling in places now.
The colourful correct box (ATAMCO P LTD. Calcutta) is bright and complete. Light wear and a couple of small end flap handling tears.
