Corgi Toys Gift Set 23 Chipperfields Circus

Remarkably, this decorative and sought-after Corgi Gift Set was rescued from a house clearance recently!

This is the second issue from 1964 which includes the Giraffe Truck rather than the Booking Office.(Other minor differences too).
The attractive, highly detailed pictorial scene card box is complete, clean and bright. Showing very light wear only, notably, including a tiny scuff or two. Period price label.

Lift off the lid and the original white card packing piece is still present – nearly always discarded.

This set comes with all original contents as follows:

1) 438 Land Rover with plastic tilt and complete labels on both sides. Virtually mint.

2) 1121 Crane Truck. Close to mint with a vibrant paint finish, although there is some loss to the plating on the jib. Tiny mark on the roof and a stray smudge of factory blue paint at the rear.

3) 2 x 1123 Animal Cages. Very near mint condition with a bright red finish and intact amber glass roof sections. Intact and bright blue plastic sliding doors. Both very near mint. Correct with blue plastic sliding doors including those central doors.

Still in the original clear plastic bags, this unused set has the full complement of lions and polar bears (although one lion has wriggled free at some time). Both POLAR BEARS and LIONS transfers ready to apply.

4) 607 Elephant & Cage on Trailer. Early issue with steel bars detail. Complete paper label, tan lifting eye on the roof. Red and blue trailer has shaped spun wheels. Very near mint.

5) 503 Giraffe Transporter. Bedford TK truck in vibrant red with a bright, blue back. Shining shaped spun wheels with suspension and ‘Chipperfields Circus’ paper labels on both sides. Very close to mint condition. Both wing mirrors intact, with both reflective strips. Hinged ramp at rear to let the two giraffes in and out. Correct mother and baby giraffe present.

The polystyrene inner is complete and bright, showing only the most minor wear/grubbiness. Comes with the blue & yellow card surround too, which further protects the polystyrene.
