A fine and original example of this early version made between 1953-54 (later renumbered 981). It is cast in aluminium and has a bright deep maroon paint finish, which is very close to perfect. Maroon wheels and well-shaped grey original tyres. Perfect “BRITISH RAILWAYS” label above the cab window, virtually complete – complete labels and transfers on both sides. A lovely and obviously unused example.
It comes in the very nice and correct early deep blue box and this is the harder to find version with a three-part label. Even harder to find are the card packing pieces which hold the Horse Box securely within the box. Minor wear.
