Notes
One of the most popular Corgi models ever, issued between 1965-69.
This James Bond Aston Martin is in all original condition with none of the reproduction accessories, rife with this issue.
The car is fully functioning, complete with both figures. It has a pleasing lustrous gold finish and intact suspension on all four wheels.
Virtually mint condition.
Note this casting does not have the indicator light detail, which was not present on later issues. For more details on Corgi 261 generally, please do refer to our Blog article.
Original tyres are well-shaped. Hard to find even the merest mark on this model. If you want to find fault with it, you could note that the rear bullet shield is a touch stiff to operate. Stray dot of factory silver immediately above a headlight detail.
The plinth (with SECRET INSTRUCTION arrow, so 2nd issue) on which the model sits is complete with both pull-out end tabs. Pristine card.
Reverse view:
The Instruction Packet has never been opened (not opened and the re-sealed at some time). Inside you will find the Secret Instruction Leaflet and spare villain, no badge.
Additional leaflet Model Car Makers to James Bond is included.
The 2nd issue outer box looks like old shop stock. Wonderful, silky barely handled feel to the crisp vibrant card.
Note that since it is 2nd issue there is shading detail around the lettering ASTON MARTIN DB5 on the box face and a black border around the JAMES BOND’S lettering.
