Dinky Toys 991 AEC Tanker 'SHELL CHEMICALS'

Second issue made between 1955-58, this commercial truck has a bright red and yellow, glossy finish. Complete “SHELL CHEMICALS” lettering on both sides, and SHELL’ logo at the rear. 20 mph sign intact, too.

Hard to find a mark to the paint finish but minute scrutiny finds a couple of little retouches. Two of the original grey tyres has a light flat spot. Bright base has a little ‘spidering’.
The striped Supertoys box is bright and complete, with no splits or repairs. ‘LF’ (lead free) label still in place on a box lid end. Inside the lid, there is a period price label of 6/3 too. Dinky stamp on the inside surface of the lid dates this model from September, 1956.
