This version has a rich mid-tan cab and chassis, green back, red ridged wheels, black lettering. Perfect “DINKY SERVICE” lettering on both sides. Early brass winding handle which operates the tow hook. Shiny baseplate. Original smooth tyres are supple and well-shaped.
A few tiny marks to the paint finish.
The harder to find striped ‘Dinky Toys’ card box with this early numbering has bright colours on complete, intact card. Tarnishing to the staples and light wear besides. Period pencilled price label. Dinky stamp inside the box lid dates this particular example from 1958.
