Unusual to find this Dinky Truck in its 2nd type form – more usually 511 (and 1st type) is found.
Obviously an ex-shop stock item, with such a lustrous two tone blue finish and complete with the so-often discarded little card packing piece which fits behind the cab! A delightful example!
Super-bright axles!
This truck has barely seen the light of day, so the colours are as fresh as the day this truck left the Dinky factory in 1955 (Dinky stamp inside the box lid).
One pin prick mark on the cab roof and a couple of tiny chips at front wheel arch edge – and that’s it!
The box is such a fitting partner with none of the usual rubbing at corners; vivid colours throughout and the shininest staples. Quite remarkable condition throughout. Note that this was an export model and has a fresh and bright Hudson Dobson label at the side of the lid.
Surely one of the best surviving examples – and if you are a Dinky fan but have never ventured into boxed commercials, it may be time to make an exception!
