Notes

Originally purchased from a former Corgi Quality Control Inspector, this is a unique find. This sample piece is finished in deep metallic blue (just like the standard production model that was due to be released later in 1972 – actually just one month later in June). However, this sample piece has bare details such as the metal aerofoil, exhaust and roll bar. Bare metal base too. Intact screen and plastic driver in white with blue strip detail.
Understandably, this pre-production sample piece does not have the decals as the production issue would have.

The red and yellow ‘TECHNOCRATS’ window box is very clean, fresh and bright with crisp card and intact cellophane. Very close to old shop stock quality, including the colourful inner card stand. Period print SAMPLE 11/5/72 and ‘LAST OFF SAMPLE’.
Another little piece of Corgi history from this specialist Corgi collector.
