Sabra Models 8116 Chevrolet Taxi
Chevrolet Taxi by Sabra (with Cragstan)) No. 8116 in Israel. For the U.S. market with CRAGSTAN DETROIT SENIOR on the base. Black & gold label at rigid plastic box end and petrol pump style plastic inner. Very near mint/boxed. Rare model from The Berlin Collection.
Notes
An interesting and scarce item. Cragstan (more well known for its robot items) wanted a piece of the diecast market that Corgi and Dinky had captured and enlisted Gamda Koor/Sabra for its international (and specifically U.S.) sales. Cragstan called them Sabra Super Cars, “Detroit Seniors” (see image of model base).
Bright yellow original finish on this Chevrolet Taxi with a bright red interior, chrome trim deep blue roof light and intact ’TAXI lettering throughout. Approx 1:43 scale. Shiny spun wheels. Well-shaped original tyres.
Very near mint.
Couple of little wheel arch marks to the paint.
This simpler style garage style box is composed of hard plastic box with intact and complete garage door and yellow plastic base. Gold and black end label with Gamda Koor Sabra and Made in Israel printed alongside the product detail and instructions for opening the box.
