Dinky Toys 935 Leyland Octopus Flat Truck with Chains
Leyland Octopus Flat Truck with Chains by Dinky Toys, No. 935. Rarest version in BLUE, GREY & LEMON with grey plastic wheels. Very near mint/boxed. Made during 1963-1964 only. From A Phenomenal Collection.
Notes
Now here’s a rare Dinky commercial – so often missing from even the most extensive Dinky collections! The colour version is extremely hard to come by, let alone in this very close to mint condition. This Leyland Octopus Flat Truck with Chains has a deep blue cab and chassis with a light yellow band around the cab, grey back (rivetted) and grey plastic wheels.
Sleek, untarnished metal parts and that includes the axle ends and rivet.
Barely a mark to the glossy finish. Under high magnification, a few subtle wheel arch touch-ins may be found.
The Supertoys box (with italicised print) is clean and bright. Strip of surface loss to the lid and a little age/handling wear besides. Edge scuff to the box base underside. Correct blue colour spot at a lid end. Rusty staples and some rust stain spots on the inside surface of the base.
A high profile, sought-after Dinky commercial truck that so rarely comes to market.
