Notes
A sought-after Gift Set issued between 1953-54.
It comprises:
1) 23G Cooper-Bristol in green, racing number 6. Very, very near mint.
2) 23F Alfa Romeo in red, racing number 8. Very, very near mint.
3) 23h Ferrari in blue, racing number 5. Mint.
4) 23J HWM in light green with racing number 7. Very, very near mint.
5) 23N Maserati. Very near mint.
Each racing car is set on the original slotted card insert which is clean and tear-free. Box base is complete and presents well. Front edge has a little strip of sunfading. Printed lettering is crisp and bright.
The colourful striped box lid which also bears the later numbering 249, is complete, fresh and vibrantly-coloured. No graffiti. Stored well and handled rarely. A couple of small areas of surface loss where the tape which kept the lid closed was removed at some time.
