Now here’s a colour variation you don’t see too often, this Austin Healey model is finished in a very attractive shade of dusky turquoise blue with a red interior. Well-shaped tyres with a fine tread and a shiny baseplate.
QDT have offered for sale just two others in this colour and one was pre-internet days! The other may be found in our archive and was in chipped condition.
From an Estate Sale in the U.S., this superb Austin Healey model is in all authentic, all original condition throughout and one of the best examples from this very short, early production run ( we expect from 1956). Correct that this early issue has the slightly shorter windscreen, the flat spun wheels and the blue picture box, with this colour version printed on one box face.
Lightest rubbing to the paint finish at some raised edges and the occasional minute dot, if one is being extra fussy and armed with a magnifying glass. Note the mal-formed steering wheel (as-made).
The early powder blue card box is complete and strongly-coloured with a crisp feel. Note the residue from a price label on an end flap and the scuff on one box face. Fainter scuff on the other. One internal end flap has been re-attached. Faint part-puncture to an end flap caused by over-rider contact.
